Next season promises to be a transitional one for Celtic. After a disappointing campaign that saw them lose the Premiership title to the Rangers with six games to spare, a number of changes are set to take place at Parkhead over the course of the next few months.

Peter Lawwell will step down from his role after 17 years and will be replaced by Dominic McKay. A new manager is also expected to be brought in. While new faces will replace those who are going to leave in the summer.

But the failure to complete 10IAR this season means that there will be a lot of pressure on the club to return to the Scottish football as soon as possible. As a result, whoever is the manager of the club next season, will have the tough task of guiding a team in transition to titles.

Thus, it will be very important for the club to keep hold of players who have previous experience of both winning consistently and bouncing back from defeats. In that regard, nobody has more experience and knowhow than Scott Brown.

Celtic must keep hold of Scott Brown

Brown has been the Celtic captain for over a decade now. But his contract is set to expire at the end of this campaign. And the club must do everything they can to keep him at Parkhead, because his experience will be very important next season. His presence will make the transition period easier and hopefully, shorter.

There is some positive news in this regard. According to the Daily Record, the club are ready to offer him a new deal amid rumours that he could be offered a player-coach role at Aberdeen.

While 35 years of age, Brown remains an important part of this team and has a lot left to offer on the pitch. Even this season, he has made 35 appearances. And we can only hope that he continues playing for the Hoops for the foreseeable future.
