A number of new players are expected to arrive at Celtic over the course of the next few months as the club prepare for a squad rebuild in order to challenge for the Premiership title next season, after losing with six games to spare at the hands of the Rangers.
One player who has already been confirmed to be arriving at Parkhead in the summer is Sheffield Wednesday’s Liam Shaw. The 20-year-old midfielder has been an important member of the Championship club’s squad this season and is very highly-rated by them.
But with his contract set to run out at the end of this campaign, the Hoops managed to agree a pre-contract deal with the player, which will see him join Celtic at the end of this campaign.
Darren Moore became the manager of Sheffield Wednesday just earlier this month. But it looks like he has already been impressed with Shaw. As reported by Examiner Live/Yorkshire Live, he said:
"“He’s a great human being and man. I have spoken to him. He is very, very committed and he is a top young, talented player.”"

Shaw could be a great signing for Celtic
Everything that we have heard about Shaw over the past few months, has been positive. Thus, it looks like Celtic might have a great player and overall human being on their hands.
Shaw just turned 20 and has a lot of time to develop as a player. But even then, he has made quite a few appearances in the Championship and impressed. Thus, while he might not be a regular for the Hoops straight after coming in, he should be in and around the first-team at least.
And his versatility could prove to be a massive asset for the club as well. While he plays in central midfield, Shaw is capable of playing in defence as well. This has drawn comparisons with Kristoffer Ajer, who arrived as a midfielder but is now arguably the best defender at Parkhead.
And if Shaw is as good as the Norwegian international, the Hoops should be delighted.
