After a disappointing campaign that has seen them lose the Premiership title at the hands of the Rangers with six games to spare, Celtic are staring at a summer rebuild with the focus of returning to the top of Scottish football next season.
Neil Lennon stepped down from his role a couple of weeks back, leaving John Kennedy in interim charge of the club. But at this point of time, unless performances and results improve drastically over the course of the next couple of months, the Hoops are expected to bring in a new manager in the summer.
Multiple names have been linked with the role over the past several months, including Rafa Benitez, Eddie Howe, Frank Lampard, Roberto Martinez, Steve Clarke and Roy Keane among many others.
But as reported by The Scottish Sun, Chris Wilder has now emerged as the bookies’ favourite to be the next Celtic manager.

Could Chris Wilder be headed to Celtic in the summer?
As reported by Sky Sports, Wilder is on the verge of leaving Sheffield United as the club sit at the bottom of the Premier League table, having managed just 14 points from 28 games this season.
But while they might have failed to deliver this season, it does not change the fact that Wilder has done a brilliant job during his time at the club. After joining in 2016, in three seasons, he guided them from League One to the Premier League.
In their first season back in the Premier League, the club did spectacularly as well, finishing in ninth with an impressive 54 points. And his style of football managed to catch the eye of the fans as well.
Thus, it is not hard to see why he is being linked with the Parkhead job and to be honest, the club should consider him for the role if the opportunity is indeed there.
