A number of players are expected to leave Celtic over the next few months as the club aim to rebuild their squad and challenge for the Premiership next season. Not many of them are probably going to command a £10 million transfer fee though.

According to Birmingham Mail, Jack Hendry has been linked with a big move to English Premier League giants Aston Villa and could fetch a transfer fee as high as £10 million.

Hendry has had an incredible season, considering the 25-year-old had become something of a forgotten man at Parkhead in recent years. Currently on loan at KV Oostende, the centre-back has impressed for the Belgian side encouraging high-profile interest in his signature.

Intriguingly, there are growing rumours that Hendry could play a part at Celtic Park next season. Come the summer transfer window, there is an anticipation that the Hoops could lose a number of key players. Consequentially, the club might have to convince Hendry to return to Parkhead as KV Oostende are believed to have a £2 million buy clause in the loan deal.

Could Hendry have a future at Celtic?

Kristoffer Ajer could leave the club due to only having 12 months left on his current deal going into the 2021/22 season, while Christopher Julien is expected to be out of action for the foreseeable future with an injury. Shane Duffy’s loan deal is also set to come to an end at the end of this campaign.

This could leave the Celtic backline in a bad spot going into the Champions League qualifiers. Potentially, Stephen Welsh and Nir Bitton could be the only players left at the club capable of playing there going into the second qualifying round of the competition.

With a new manager expected to come in at the end of this season, could Hendry still have a future at the club?

Guess only time will tell and at this point, the best the club can hope for is that the Scot is back at Parkhead at the end of the season.
