Celtic will be hoping to turn things around next season and win back the Premiership title from the Rangers, after a disappointing campaign. And in order to reach that goal, the club are expected to bring in a new manager in the summer.
Now, there is the possibility that John Kennedy will be handed the permanent role if results and performances improve drastically under him over the next few months or so. But for the time being, you would have to think that he has been given the interim role till the end of this season.
A number of interesting names have been linked with the job over the past several months. They have ranged from past Champions League winners like Rafa Benitez to those like Frank Lampard, who are yet to capture their first piece of silverware in management.
The name that has perhaps cropped up the most though, is that of Eddie Howe. The former Bournemouth manager is currently a free agent and has been urged to take the Celtic job if it is presented to him, in order to test his skills. In his column in the Daily Mail, Ian Ladyman wrote:
"The Celtic job is not unique but is at the top end of the scale when it comes to pressure, expectation and stress. Those who have done it will all tell you it is unrelenting, politically demanding and exhausting. And this is precisely why Eddie Howe should take it if offered the opportunity.Howe, still only 43 after all those years at Bournemouth, is at the stage of his career where his skills need to be examined at the next level."

Howe certainly has the pedigree to succeed at Celtic
Now, Howe might not have won a top division trophy in his managerial career yet, but there is no questioning his abilities. He took a Bournemouth side from League Two to the Premier League in a short space of time and kept them there for five years. That is an incredible achievement for anyone.
If Celtic appoint him, it would be a major coup and one that fans should be delighted with. Of course, he is not a magician and will need the right squad to work with, which will depend on the recruitment this summer.
The Hoops are expected to face some tough competition for Howe’s signature though as he has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs recently as well.
