With 10IAR on the line, this was perhaps the most important season for Celtic since 1967. As a result, their failure this time around will hurt more than most.

After all, it had taken nine years to build up to this point, and it is questionable when such an opportunity will arise again. But it is in the past now, and the club needs to focus on the future.

The Rangers have won the Premiership with six games to spare and have a 20-point lead at the moment. And it could easily increase even further over the next few weeks. The best that Celtic can hope for this season now is to win against their Glasgow rivals.

The most important thing moving forward though, is to focus on getting back to the top of Scottish football and quickly. There is nothing the club can do to change the past but the future lies in their own hands.

Celtic will undergo a number of changes in the summer

This summer promises to be one of change for The Hoops. Peter Lawwell will be stepping down from his role after 17 years and will be replaced Dominic McKay. A new manager is also expected to be brought in. And multiple players are being linked with a move away from the club as well, including first-team regulars like Odsonne Edouard, Kristoffer Ajer and Ryan Christie.

In many ways, it will be a transitional season for the club but one that they cannot afford to treat as one. Having lost the league title to the Rangers, they will be expected to win it back as soon as possible. As a result, a tough road lies ahead for the Hoops.

The preparation for next season should start now. There are multiple areas in which the club need to improve. And while the big changes will be made in the summer, it is time to get the smaller stuff out of the way immediately.
