A number of players are expected to leave Celtic at the end of this season. The usual names that crop up in the rumour mill are that of Odsonne Edouard, Kristoffer Ajer and Ryan Christie. But there are multiple others who could be headed for the Parkhead exit in the summer.

One of those names could be that of Jack Hendry. The Scottish defender is currently away on loan at Belgian side KV Oostende and has done very well this season.

He was very much a fringe player during his time at Parkhead under Neil Lennon and the club decided to let him leave on loan at the start of this season. That move has helped the player revive his career and now he appears to be a man in demand.

As a result, Celtic would probably want to have him back at the club. But as reported by The Mirror, there is a £2 million option to buy in the loan deal which KV Oostende might be tempted to trigger, especially with the recent rumours linking Hendry with Premier League clubs.

Hendry can play a role at Celtic next season

Despite showing potential early on his career and making his Scottish national team debut back in 2018, Hendry did not get too many opportunities under Neil Lennon.

But the Northern Irish manager resigned last week, leaving John Kennedy as the interim manager of the Hoops. A new manager is expected to be brought in in the summer and there is a very real possibility that Hendry could get opportunities under him if he did decide to return to Parkhead.

Thus, the final decision will lie with him. If KV Oostende do decide to trigger the option to buy clause, then it will be up to the Scot whether he wants to move to Belgium permanently or return to Glasgow and try to make a name for himself at Parkhead.
