Transfer rumours always surround clubs the size of Celtic even when windows are months away. And with the Hoops expected to undergo a massive overhaul in the summer, as they aim to challenge for the Premiership title next season, it is only natural that a number of the players are being linked with moves away from Parkhead.
One of those players is Odsonne Edouard. The Frenchman has been absolutely sensational for the club ever since joining from Paris Saint-Germain in a record £9 million deal.
For three straight seasons he has crossed the 20-goal mark for Celtic. On top of that, he is also the all-time record goalscorer for the France under-21s side. Naturally, his performances have caught the eye of clubs around Europe and he is expected to leave this summer with just a little over a year left on his contract.
Recently, rumours had been doing the rounds that the club were getting close to agreeing a deal for his summer exit. But John Kennedy’s recent comments suggest that no decision has been made yet regarding the Frenchman’s future. As reported by BBC, the interim manager said:
"“We want to keep him for as long as we can because of the talent he’s got. But there ultimately comes a point, whether contractually or the player’s motivation, when you have to sit down and address that and that will be done in the summer.”"

Celtic will decide Edouard’s future in the summer
Now, this does not mean that he will not leave the club over the next few months. On the contrary, that is very likely to happen considering the fact that he has little over a year left on his contract at the moment and the Hoops could end up losing him for nothing a year later if they do hold on to him.
As a result, do not be surprised to see him complete a move away in the summer. For the time being though, Edouard is a Celtic player and nothing has been decided about his future.
It will be interesting to see what kind of a transfer fee the Hoops can get for the striker. While he was valued at around £30 million last summer, it is unlikely that clubs would be willing to pay that much for a player who will be a free agent a year later.
