Celtic have been linked with a move for Eddie Howe for quite some time now. Neil Lennon was expected to be shown the exit door at the end of this season after the club’s underwhelming performance under him but the Northern Irish manager decided to step down himself.
As a result, John Kennedy is now the interim manager for the time being although they are still expected to make an appointment in the summer unless both the performances and the results improve drastically over the next few months.
One of the names who is believed to be in the running for the job is the aforementioned Howe. He did a spectacular job as Bournemouth manager, taking them from League Two to the Premier League over the course of his two stints at the club but now finds himself as a free agent.
And according to Football Insider, the Hoops have made contact with him regarding the Parkhead job and he is interested as well, although Howe is eyeing a return to the Premier League as well.

Howe could be a brilliant manager at Celtic but can they get him?
There is no denying the fact that Howe is a brilliant manager. Otherwise, he would not have been able to take Bournemouth from the fourth division of English football to the Premier League in a relatively short span of time.
Thus, if the Hoops have the opportunity to bring him to Parkhead, they should not think about it twice. But then, you would have to think that a manager of his quality will always have a number of offers on the table.
He has been linked with clubs like Crystal Palace and Newcastle United in the recent past, and if those opportunities were there at the end of this campaign, Celtic might have a tough time luring him away to the Scottish Premiership. Still, it is a major positive that he is interested in the role and only time will tell where he will ultimately end up.
