It is safe to say that most Celtic fans would agree that it is a bit too late to turn things around this season. As things stand, the Rangers need 7 points out of their last 8 games to guarantee themselves the Scottish Premiership title. And that means that Hoops’ 10IAR hopes are as good as over, something that will hurt everybody associated with the club.
Following their 1-0 defeat to then bottom-placed Ross County, Neil Lennon decided to step down as Celtic manager. And while he has achieved great things for the club in the past, both as a player and a manager, it was time for him to take the hard decision.
John Kennedy has been named the interim manager and is expected to have the role at least till the end of the season. And while the club are believed to be looking for a new permanent manager, you cannot count out Kennedy getting the job if he manages to get the team performing once again.
Chris Sutton believes that the club are not ‘out of the woods’ yet despite Lennon stepping down as manager. While speaking with BT Sport, he said:
"“This should have happened months ago. Celtic have been sleeping this season. There’s been a lack of leadership all throughout the club and it’s a massive problem. And they are not out of the woods just because Neil stepped down. No, no.”"

Changes are required at Celtic
It would be wrong to expect a new manager to come in and automatically get this side performing once again, especially with the likes of Odsonne Edouard and Ryan Christie rumoured to be leaving the club in the summer.
The squad will need a massive overhaul as well and let’s just hope that the Hoops get their recruitment right. We have seen them sign the duo of Vasilis Barkas and Albian Ajeti for a reported combined fee of £10 million in the summer, while Shane Duffy arrived on a big money loan deal as well. None of them have managed to deliver though.
Going forward, players have to be signed who have the ability to come in and make an immediate impact because they cannot afford to treat next season as a transitional one.
