It is clear that Celtic are on the verge of a massive overhaul in the summer. A number of players will most likely be headed for the Parkhead exit, with a number of new faces coming in to replace them.

While the fans will be expecting the club to make a few blockbuster signings, especially after having failed in their quest for 10IAR, it looks like that their early transfer business will be focused on signing youngsters.

There has been some controversy regarding the situation of Liam Shaw, the 19-year-old Sheffield Wednesday midfielder who has apparently signed a pre-contract agreement with Celtic although Neil Lennon raised some concerns by refusing to comment on him yesterday. But the general feeling appears to be that a deal has indeed been reached, and perhaps the clubs are holding the cards close to their chests in case the situation changes due to an injury.

Now, it looks like the Hoops have set their eyes on Thomas Robert, the son of Laurent Robert, who is currently playing for Scottish League One side Airdrieonians.

Signing Robert could be a shrewd move on the end of Celtic

Now, it is understandable that a few eyebrows will be raised when Celtic go after a 20-year-old winger currently playing in the third tier of Scottish football. But the situation certainly is very different when it comes to Robert.

The right winger has always been highly rated and it was a shock when he decide to leave Ligue 1 side Montpellier and joined Airdrieonians. It is safe to say that not many would have seen the move coming.

It has provided him the chance to play some regular football though. In 14 appearances, he has scored 4 goals and provided 2 assists for them. And as reported by The Scottish Sun, he is set to train at Lennoxtown. And if he can impress in that stint, the club will try to sign him on a permanent basis.
