Celtic managed to come out with a 1-0 win over Aberdeen thanks to David Turnbull’s brilliant strike from distance. But it has also raised questions about a Neil Lennon decision.
It is safe to say that the club have not been at the top of their game this season, unfortunately with 10IAR on the line. Thus, they cannot complain about the three points although the performances might not still be up to the mark.
Turnbull has been a shining light in a season that has been full of dark clouds though, which makes the decision to not give him a chance for the first several months since arriving at Parkhead very baffling.
It is clear that the quality was always there. After all, he had scored 15 goals in a Premiership season for Motherwell before getting injured. And if he had been played from the very start of the season, things might have been very different for Celtic as well.
Had David Turnbull played at the start of the season we could have been seeing a very different situation 🍀

David Turnbull is the future of Celtic
What is done, is done though and now we must think about the future. And there is no doubt that David Turnbull is the future of this club.
There is an expectation that Lennon will be shown the exit door at the end of this campaign. And whoever it is that comes in must build his team around Turnbull. He is just that good.
He can score, is good at set-pieces and is very creative as well. Not much more you can ask of an attacking midfielder. It is clear that Lennon made a mistake by not giving the Scot the chance to show what he could do, even when the team was struggling badly. And it has cost them dearly. It was only in December that he was given a run in the first-team. All we can do now is hope that such mistakes are not repeated in the future.
