It is clear that it is going to be a summer of change for Celtic. The Hoops have endured a terrible season with 10IAR on the line. And now, changes are expected to be made throughout the club in hopes that they can challenge for the title once again next season, with the Rangers looking set to lift it this time around.

In many ways, the changes have already begun at Parkhead. Jeremie Frimpong was allowed to leave for Bayer Leverkusen in a transfer deal reportedly worth around £10 million which can rise to £11.5 million with add-ons. Hatem Abd Elhamed has also departed while Olivier Ntcham joined Marseille on loan, with an option to buy.

This is by no means the end of departures though. A number of high profile players are expected to follow suit in the upcoming summer transfer window. Two of those are Kristoffer Ajer and Odsonne Edouard.

As reported by Glasgow Live, Lennon revealed that there had been talks with the duo’s representatives about new contracts. But judging from his words, it does sound like the club are open to prospect of having to let them go in the summer:

"“We have spoken to both their representatives about sitting down and discussing new contracts, but that’s not been forthcoming at the minute, so we’ll have to wait and see what the summer brings.“But what we do have is a team full of assets. Like I said, we just sold one there [Frimpong] for a huge amount of money.“Every individual’s situation has to be taken on its own merits and we’ll hopefully come to the right decision on each one.“We’re moving along with plans for the summer quite nicely. I’d expect there will be a few changes to the footballing personnel.”"

Edouard and Ajer have been two of Celtic’s best players this season

In a season as bad as this one, both Edouard and Ajer have at least managed to give good accounts of themselves.

The Norwegian has been the only defender who has shown any kind of consistency. On the other hand, Edouard has not matched his usual standards but has managed to find his form lately, crossing the 20-goal mark for Celtic for the third straight season. So while he might not have been as good as last campaign, you cannot claim that he has been terrible either.

Losing them would be a massive blow to the club. But with less than a year left on their contracts when summer rolls around, it will be their final opportunity to get a transfer fee out of their departures. And it is unlikely that either of them will be extending their current deals, so brace yourselves to see them leave at the end of this season.
