Celtic have signed a lot of players over the past few years who have done little to nothing at Parkhead. Inevitably, most of them move out on loan in hopes of playing time and form. And a few of them even end up making their stay permanent after impressing while away from Parkhead.

One of those guys could be Marian Shved. The Ukrainian was brought to the club with high hopes after showing excellent form at Karpaty Lviv. Unfortunately, he failed to settle down in Scottish football and made only a couple of appearances for the Hoops last season before moving to Belgian side KV Mechelen on loan this time around.

Even there he endured a rocky start, which even saw his manager criticise his attitude publicly. Since then though he has made quite the turnaround.

In 13 appearances for the club, he has scored 4 goals and has an assist to his name as well and Kv Mechelen could very well try to sign him on a permanent basis at the end of the season. Shved has suffered an injury blow though, as Belgian outlet Nieuwsblad have reported that he has suffered a “small” hamstring tear (via 67 Hail Hail).

Marian Shved deserves a chance at Celtic

This injury is bad news for a player who was finally starting to find his form and make an impact. However, his displays till now should convince Celtic to give him a chance to prove himself at Parkhead.

It is not clear whether there is an option to buy in his loan deal or not but if there is not, then it might be a good idea to hold on to him.

Right-wing has been an area where the Hoops need some depth and he could be the perfect option to do that. To be very honest, he did not get a fair shake at the club at all and even then, he managed to find the back of the net despite just making two substitute appearances.

If this season has shown anything about Shved, it is that he can be hard to deal with but produces results when pushed by the manager. May be that is what what the Celtic boss needs to do as well, whoever that is come next season.
