Celtic are expected to undergo a massive overhaul in the summer as they attempt to regain their position as the champions of Scotland, as it is more than likely that the Rangers will take over that crown at the end of this season.

Huge changes are set to take place at the club. Peter Lawwell has already been confirmed to be stepping down from his role, which he has held for almost two decades and will be replaced by Dominic McKay.

Neil Lennon has seemed adamant that he won’t be leaving the Hoops anytime soon but after the season that they have endured, the club might not have any other choice but to show him the exit door come the end of the season. Let’s just hope that when or if that happens, they target a high-profile manager who can come in and make an immediate impact instead of going for an economical choice once again.

That does not mean that everything is waiting for the summer though as it appears that they are already pushing to bring in players to the club. One of them is Sheffield Wednesday’s Liam Shaw.

The Sheffield Wednesday youngster could be set to join Celtic

As we all know, there’s not many things that the board love more than a good bargain. And with Shaw’s contract running out at the end of the season, the Hoops could secure his signature for just £300,000 at the end of the campaign.

As reported by Football Insider, the club has already managed to agree personal terms with the 19-year-old although things are not done and dusted yet, with Sheffield Wednesday still trying to get him to pen on paper on a new deal.

Shaw has caught the eye this season, having made 14 appearances for the Owls, scoring and assisting once each. And the versatile youngster is also capable of playing at centre-back if called to do so.

He could be a great addition to Celtic if they can get this deal over the line. As we learned from the Ben Davies saga, nothing is done before an official announcement is made.
