As far as Celtic’s recent transfer business goes, Mohamed Elyounoussi has been a pretty good signing. He has been on loan at Parkhead for the past couple of seasons and has shown sparks of brilliance at times.
In 53 appearances for the Hoops, he has scored 20 goals and 12 assists. Those are pretty good numbers for a winger and at one point of time this season, he looked like the only player capable of scoring in the team.
Neil Lennon has had a hard time fitting him into the setup in recent weeks but that does not change the fact that Elyounoussi has shown that he can do a pretty good job in Scottish football. And under a new manager, who is expected to arrive in the summer, he could end up being one of the best players in the entire league.
Interestingly, Celtic could have the chance to sign him permanently when the summer transfer window opens and for a massive bargain. As reported by Football Insider, Southampton are open to the idea of letting him leave and he could be available for around £5 million.

Signing Elyounoussi could be a shrewd piece of business from Celtic
£5 million is not a lot for a proven player like Elyounoussi, who in the right system and under the right manager could be a massive asset to the club.
Southampton had originally signed him from FC Basel for £16 million. But a failed campaign in the Premier League saw him move to Parkhead on loan. The Saints tried to find a new home last summer for a fee of around £8-10 million.
Now, with just a couple of years left on his contract when the summer transfer window rolls around, the Premier League side are expected to lower their price even further. And this opens up the opportunity for Celtic to swoop and get a deal done.
The Hoops have a massive lack of depth on the wings at the club right now. And losing a player of Elyounoussi’s quality would effect that even further. Let’s get the deal done if we have the chance.
