Neil Lennon continued to shock Celtic fans with his views and opinion about his ongoing role at the club. Despite falling 23 points behind the Rangers in the Premiership table and falling in every other competition this season as well, he has made it clear that he is not looking to leave anytime soon.
In the wake of an awful run of results leaving Hoops fans deflated and players looking demoralised and lacking in confidence, it’s a massive surprise that the manager remains in place. Unless you are Lennon himself, who seems surprised at any question of him moving out.
As tweeted out by BBC Scotland reporter Kheredine Idessane, when he asked about his position at the club with Peter Lawwell leaving at the end of the season, Lennon said:
The @CelticFC boss N. Lennon has no plans to follow CEO P. Lawwell out in the summer. "Why would it be my intention to go? Peter’s decision has nothing to do with my position at all, or my coaches or any of the players. So I don’t understand the context of the question at all.”

The result of the new year review, that had been promised back in December, is yet to be revealed and even the fans liaison via John Paul Taylor appeared to have no idea when asked for an update:
I’ve asked continuously for an update on this throughout the month Liam, Club must provide an update

Lennon remains at Celtic despite terrible performances
While Lawwell and Lennon’s position are certainly different, there is no doubt that this is a very odd deflection of a question by the manager. It’s pretty obvious why questions about his role at the club are asked. Just take a look at Celtic’s results this season!
Then we have simple facts such as the transfer window closing with Lennon in charge. If anything was happening quickly then a replacement manager, even an interim onw, would surely have been in place before the window had slammed shut. Nothing adds up in all this other than a prevailing view that the board, and perhaps Lennon himself, are waiting for something to happen or for the other to show their hand.
In the meantime the fans remain in the dark to suffer the frustrations of each poor result and lack of positive news.
