When do Celtic decide that enough is enough?

It is safe to say that there is very little hope left in Celtic’s season at the moment. It is a futile effort to even think about catching up with the Rangers. They are long gone. And so will be the second spot if the club does not make a change quickly.

We saw just this month how Chelsea decided to sack Frank Lampard after a bad run of form. A little over a month ago, they were sitting on top of the Premier League by the way and they also topped their Champions League group this season itself.

Lampard is arguably the greatest player to ever play for Chelsea. With all due respect to Neil Lennon, he is nowhere near being the greatest player to ever pull on the Celtic jersey. Yet, the board show no sign of showing him the exit door. Just goes to show the difference in ambition between the two football clubs.

They are now 23 points behind the Rangers. And at this rate, Steven Gerrard’s side might end up winning the league with 8 or 9 games in hand.

It’s time for Celtic to make a change, it has been for a while

Today’s 2-1 defeat at home against St Mirren stung. But to be very honest, it is not something that a lot of us did not see coming. It is clear by now that some of these players have given up and very possible that Lennon has lost the dressing room.

Yet, he continues to occupy the manager’s office. Most fans would have expected him to walk out by now but he has made it clear already that he won’t be doing that. In that case, the board must make that decision for him.

Unfortunately, we have been saying this since early December. And the only thing that the board have done since then is promise that there will be a performance review of the manager in January. We just finished the month with 1 win, 3 draws and 2 defeats.
