Celtic have been hit with a transfer blow recently with the departure of Jeremie Frimpong to Bayer Leverkusen. Not many would have expected the move and it came completely out of the blue.

The likes of Odsonne Edouard, Olivier Ntcham and Ryan Christie have been linked with moves away for quite some time and them leaving would not have been surprising. But with Frimpong wanting to leave, an offer in the region of £10 million was enough for the Hoops’ board. To be honest, that is quite a profit on a player who was signed for £300,000 just a couple of summers ago.

Is Ben Davies to Celtic done or not?

These are conflicting reports from two very reliable sources. Thus, it is hard to pick a side on this matter. But guess only time will tell what is the exact situation right now.

This does not mean that it will not eventually happen but there will be quite a few nerves about this going through now. Although Parkhead does look like the most likely destination for Davies.

In terms of the player, it looks like he had caught the eye of the Preston North End fans during his time at the club with many even describing him as one of the best defenders in the Championship. It will be wise to not get too excited before any move is confirmed though and then we will see if he is indeed the player that many claim he is.
