As Celtic continue to freefall away from the title this season, it is clear that sooner or later, the club will part ways with Neil Lennon. And when that time comes, there appears to be a favourite to replace the Northern Irishman at Parkhead.

The Hoops have been linked with former Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe for the past couple of months before suffering a blow as Newcastle United are interested in him as well. Still, the pressure continues to build on the club as they have drawn three straight to remain winless from their opening four matches of 2021. They currently sit 20 points behind the Rangers.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Betfred has suspended all betting on the next manager of Celtic. Howe was listed as the 1/10 favourite to succeed Lennon before they closed the betting. Jack Ross and John Kennedy are also tipped to take over and are secondary favourites to get the job.

This might be the biggest hint yet that the English manager is headed to Parkhead. And that would probably make the majority of the fans happy.

Eddie Howe finally coming to Celtic?

It has been a season filled with disaster after disaster. When things couldn’t get worse, they surely find something to make it worse. And recent reports suggest that Lennon’s future at the club will be decided by the end of this month as the board are currently ‘reviewing’ his position.

Such chaos could not have come at a worse time with Celtic’s hopes of winning the historic 10IAR now shattered. The Hoops must look to bring in a fresh face to take over as soon as possible and hopefully that it is Howe indeed.

The manager certainly has the ability to get the best out of whatever is available to him. He did take Bournemouth from the fourth division to the Premier League and managed to keep them up for five seasons. That is nothing to scoff at, considering their home stadium can hold just 11,329 fans at full capacity.
