It looks like Celtic are going to continue with their transfer policy of signing highly-rated teenagers in hopes of turning them into first-team quality players, as they have been linked with the Championship starlet.
Now, after the club’s disastrous collapse this season, many would argue that it is ready-made players that they need at the moment if they want to get back to the top of Scottish football in the near future.
Another thing to consider is the club’s poor record recently in bringing up youth level players to the first-team. But maybe that will change when a new manager comes in through the door, which is expected to be sooner or later.
For the time being it looks like the Hoops will continue to try and stockpile on highly-rated youngsters. The latest name linked with the club is QPR’s 17-year-old striker Sinclair Armstrong and according to GOAL, Celtic will try to sign him although Manchester City and Crystal Palace are in the race for his signature as well.
Sinclair Armstrong to Celtic?

The Irish striker signed with QPR just back in October but it was a short-term deal which will run out in the summer. As a result, the Hoops will be free to try and lure him to Parkhead. And as we all know, there’s very few things that the club’s recruitment team loves more than a free transfer.
QPR had originally hoped that they could get him to sign on a long-term deal. But now, there are serious questions regarding this as he is now free to sign a pre-contract agreement with clubs interested in acquiring his services in the summer.
Obviously, Celtic are no strangers to signing highly-rated Irish youngsters. They already have Jonathan Afolabi and Lee O’Connor on their books. But neither of them have yet managed to break into the first-team picture and are out on loan at the moment. And if Armstrong does end up signing with the Hoops, that could be the most likely path for him as well.
