Celtic fans have been left fuming after the club confirmed that a player has tested positive just a day after returning from Dubai.
It never felt like anything good was going to come out of Celtic’s warm weather training camp in Dubai in the middle of a global pandemic.
At the time of writing, the Rangers have a 22 point at the top of the Premiership table. While it might still be mathematically possible for the Hoops to turn this around, it is time to face reality and in reality it will take a miracle and a monumental collapse from Steven Gerrard’s side.
Travelling in the middle of a pandemic that is spreading rapidly at this point of time is only putting the players at risk of getting infected. And that is exactly what has happened as the club confirmed that a player, who has not been named, has tested positive.
Safe to say that Celtic fans, who were against the trip to Dubai from the very beginning, have been left fuming. And they did not hesitate to let it be known on Twitter:
Celtic today confirmed that one player has recorded a positive test for covid-19. Clearly the player will receive all our care and full support.

To be honest, this trip to Dubai could have been easily avoided. Yes, they probably had all the arrangements made before this season’s collapse. But it does not make sense to prepare for a trip to Dubai anyway, when people are told to stay inside all over the world. Let’s just say that most people saw this coming.
If this continues, it would be hard to blame anyone if the Scottish government does decide to call off the league and the Rangers are even handed the title. At the end of the day, they have a huge lead at the top of the table and will more than likely win it on the pitch anyway.
All this is self-inflicted. But what is done is done. At this point of time, we can only hope that the player recovers quickly and will like to extend our best wishes towards him.
