Celtic have been handed a major boost as their target has handed in a transfer request and could now be available on the market.

With four strikers already at the club, you would think that Celtic have more than enough cover up front. Unfortunately for the Hoops, their latest two signings in the position have turned out to be massive flops. At least that is what it looks like till now.

Last January, Patryk Klimala signed from Jagiellonia Bialystok for a reported fee of around £3.5 million. And while the Pole has shown enough desire to succeed at Parkhead, it just has not come off for him. Mostly being used as a substitute, he has 3 goals to his name this season and does not look like someone who can be the main striker at a club of this size.

In many ways, it has been even worse for Albian Ajeti. After a £5 million move from West Ham United, he started like a man with a point to prove, racking up 5 goals very quickly and at one point was averaging a goal every 47 minutes in the Premiership. It is safe to say things have gone downhill since then as his last strike came against Hibernian back in September.

One man who the Hoops have been linked with as a result is Karamoko Dembele’s older brother Siriki Dembele. And according to the Glasgow Times, the Peterborough striker has now put in a transfer request as he seeks a move away in January.

In 17 League One appearances this season, he has scored 5 goals and assisted 5 more, catching the eye of multiple clubs. The Rangers are also reportedly interested in his services while Watford and Fulham are also keeping tabs on him. Thus, it won’t be an easy task for Celtic by any stretch of the imagination although the presence of his brother at Parkhead could end up playing a huge part.

Capable of playing on either wing as well, the club might be looking at him as a versatile option who can fill in multiple positions when required and not as a regular starter.
