Celtic have been linked with a move for the highly-rated League Two winger who has been described as an incredible bargain.
With the Celtic squad away in a much criticised Dubai winter trip, whether the players are training hard or resting up, there will be work underway back in the Parkhead offices on the January transfer window.
There’s an exciting young winger available and tipped by The Athletic in their article covering top ten bargain signings for the English Premier League. As the Glasgow Evening Times reports, one of those ten has already got Celtic interested.
Exeter City winger Joel Randall is highly rated after his performances this season for the League Two club. So far he is on 8 goals and 5 assists from his 24 appearances this season. The 21-year-old left winger is known for his speed and strength and his abilities with both his feet.
Randall has been with Exeter City since he was 11, coming through their youth system. It’s always questionable whether players can take their skills and form to higher levels or away from their home club.

It’s right that he’ll attract interest based on his potential and with his contract due to expire in 2022, this winter transfer window or the summer one may be the time for his club to strike a deal with a likely fee of around £1.5 million being floated around.
For Celtic, width of play has been an issue this season, especially with James Forrest still out injured and Mike Johnston only just returning after almost a year out. When Marian Shved was signed a while back, Brendan Rodgers bemoaned the fact he was getting another winger as the squad seemed full of them. Right now, some cover and options look desirable. Especially for the longer term with Mohammed Elyounoussi only on loan until the end of the season.
The media stories read that Neil Lennon and Nicky Hammond have indicated an interest in Randall. Other clubs like Swansea City also get a mention. And if he is a true prospect and The Hoops can offer him decent playing time, then they may beat off Championship clubs to his signature.
