Celtic have been contacted by a Premier League club regarding the availability of the midfielder as they look to sign him in January.

After a horrid start to the campaign, Celtic have managed to steady the ship over the past month or so, winning six straight games. But even then, it is clear that some reinforcements need to be brought in in January.

Now, the usual suspect in that case is Odsonne Edouard. It has been rumoured for a while that he wants to leave and he eventually will. But it looks like the board will hold onto him this season as they look to secure 10IAR. And the recent upturn in his performances might suggest that his future has now been made clear behind the scenes.

Another Frenchman whose place in the team is not as secure though is Olivier Ntcham. Just like Edouard, he is also reportedly looking for a way out. And Premier League’s West Bromwich Albion might provide it to him in January.

Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph confirmed on Twitter that contact has been made with the club:

"West Brom are interested in Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham and have made initial contact over the player. A number of clubs in France are also keen. Celtic rejected a deadline day bid from Brest for Ntcham in October."

To be very honest, the Hoops won’t probably be opposed to the deal. Ntcham has fallen out of favour this season and has barely featured over the past few month. Obviously, this is down to the emergence of David Turnbull as well as his own subpar performances this season.

Earlier rated at around £13 million, the Hoops should not think twice about letting him leave if they get an offer around that. But that does look unlikely, as he is someone who has not shined this season despite his reputation as the most technically gifted midfielder at Parkhead. Of course, his desire to leave might be a huge reason for that.

Whatever may be the case, this could be a good deal for Celtic if it does go through. They will get some decent money to strengthen their squad in exchange for a player who is unlikely to get many more opportunities this season anyway.
