According to reports, Celtic could be looking to sign the brother of their highly-rated youngster although the Rangers also want him.

While Celtic’s issues at the back well-documented, it is undeniable that they have been let down by their strikers this season as well. Till now, none of their four strikers have been able to break the 10-goal mark, something that you would not expect considering how prolific they have been in recent years.

Albian Ajeti was brought to the club in the summer for a transfer fee of around £5 million. But after a lively start to life in Scotland, he has faded away badly. The Swiss striker scored the last of his five goals this season back in September. As a result, although there are more immediate needs in defence, it would not be surprising if the Hoops do end up going for another striker in January as well.

And their search for a new striker could see them make a move for Karamoko Dembele’s brother Siriki Dembele according to Peterborough Today. He currently plays for Peterborough United and has scored 5 goals and provided 5 assists in 17 League One games this season.

Although currently playing as a striker, he is very adept at playing on both wings as well. And it is probably his versatility that has caught the eye of Neil Lennon.

The Hoops are currently very short of options on their flanks. James Forrest was put out of action with a long-term ankle injury and has not featured in months. Mikey Johnston was out with an injury of his own since January but has made his return to the first-team picture in the last few weeks. On the other hand, Karamoko Dembele has not been given too many minutes of football as the manager wants him to develop physically first.

Thus, it will be interesting to see whether the club do end up making a move for the 24-year-old in January. He does not look like a player who will be a regular starter but someone who provides cover in multiple positions in case of injuries.
