It looks like Celtic are ready to let the youngster leave the club if a £13 million transfer bid was on the table.

Under perfect circumstances, Celtic would not want to lose any of their first-team players with 10IAR on the line. Unfortunately, things are far from perfect at this point of time though.

The global pandemic has wrecked havoc on the finances of clubs around the world. And the Hoops are not free from its effects. As a result, if an sizeable offer comes in then they would have a hard time rejecting it.

Of course, there are the usual suspects like Odsonne Edouard, Olivier Ntcham, Kristoffer Ajer and Ryan Christie, who are expected to leave the club in the near future. But a new name has been added to that list recently in the form of Jeremie Frimpong.

According to Glasgow Live, AS Roma are interested in the 20-year-old and they have contacted Celtic over his availability. And the Serie A side have been told that they will have to shell out around £13 million if they want to acquire the services of the Dutch youngster.

Now, this is a double-edged sword. There is no doubt that Frimpong is a very talented youngster but there are questions about certain aspects of his game. And £13 million would represent a very healthy profit on a player who just joined last summer for a total fee of around £1 million including add-ons. Manchester City to have a 30% sell-on clause though.

But then, his potential is very high. If he can improve on certain aspects of his game then it is very possible that the Hoops could command a much higher transfer fee for him in the future. Thus, they need to decide what their ultimate aim is with the youngster.

There is no news regarding whether AS Roma are ready to pay the asking price though and as a result, Frimpong is a Celtic player for the time being.
