Chris Sutton was left unhappy with the incident during the game against Lille although Celtic did manage to walk out with a 3-2 win.

All things considered, last night’s game against Lille was very positive for Celtic. After managing just a solitary point from their first five games, the club managed to beat one of the strongest teams in the competition.

Not many would have expected them to do so though considering how bad the team has looked over the last few months. But Neil Lennon’s changes paid dividends as the young Hoops looked hungry for a win.

It has also raised questions about why David Turnbull and Ismaila Soro have not been provided more opportunities. The duo were brilliant in midfield and the biggest reason why Celtic were able to come out with a win on the night. Let’s just hope both of them start on Sunday as well.

Chris Sutton was not happy with one incident during the game though and let it be known on Twitter:

It was one of the rare dark spots on the night for the Hoops. Ultimately, Frimpong would have to go off with a different injury a few minutes later but not before winning the side a penalty, which Callum McGregor stepped up to convert.

But Sutton is definitely right about their being better checking whenever there is a head injury in football. While it has always been a part of the game, we are learning new things every year. And recently, there have also been studies linking dementia with heading the ball.

It has certainly been one of the biggest talking points over the last few years and some changes need to be brought without a shadow of a doubt. It is hard to see what those changes could be though and it will be interesting to see what the governing bodies manage to come up with. Until then, we would like to wish Frimpong a speedy recovery.
