The Celtic manager was left stunned at the pre-match press conference by the brilliant question from The Cynic’s David Flanagan.
There is no question that Celtic need to ring in a few changes if they are to turn this thing around and rescue this season before it is too late. Over their last 12 games, they have managed just 2 wins. A terrible run of form for a team that is normally expected to win on most days.
Obviously, this has left them chasing the Rangers in the Premiership. At this point of time, they are 13 points behind their Glasgow rivals and we are not even halfway through the season yet. The games in hand are The Hoops’ only saving grace. On top of this, they are already out of Europe as well as the Scottish League Cup.
At this vital stage, the board have decided to dig their heels though and stick with Neil Lennon as the manager. But it is hard to see how he can turn things around judging from the team’s performances over the past several months.

The Cynic’s David Flaganan left Lennon stunned at the pre-match press conference today. He reminded the manager about how he had claimed on 27th October how he would hold his hands up if things started deteriorating at a rapid pace.
That is exactly what has happened since then though and Flanagan questioned Lennon about how he was going to bring things back on track for the club. And the manager did look lost for a few seconds, fumbling for an answer before remarking that it was a “good question”. You can listen to the audio on The Cynic’s Twitter.
He then went on to say a lot of the same stuff that he has said over the last several weeks, regarding good displays in parts of games, bad luck and things getting better if the team started to perform to its potential. Overall though, he did not give a direct answer to the question. And at this point of time, you have to wonder whether he even has one.
