Celtic fans want the club to make an ambitious move for the former Brazilian international who just became a free agent.

It is no secret that Celtic are in a lot of trouble right now. Having managed just two wins from their last twelve games, they need to find a way to turn things around pretty quickly or it might be too late for them to rescue their 10IAR campaign, if it isn’t already.

While most of the blame for their recent failures has fallen on the shoulders of Neil Lennon, it is undeniable that the players have not been up to the mark either. It does appear that some of them are no longer capable of getting the job done while a few others have already downed their tools. In this scenario, the club have no other option but bring in a few new faces when the transfer window reopens in January.

The problem is, funds will not be readily available in a season where they have already brought in five new faces in the summer combined with the effect of the global pandemic on their finances.

Thus, they might be forced to look towards free agents in order to plug the holes in the squad and Celtic fans have a pretty good candidate in mind:

Just because he is a free agent does not mean that Celtic could just snap him up though. The only way this move could happen is if the former Brazilian international wants to move to Parkhead and is willing to play in Scotland for a fraction of the salary he was bagging in China.

At Shanghai SIPG, Hulk was getting a staggering €320,000 per week. We don’t even need to tell you that we won’t be paying that to him or anyone for that matter.

Keeping the financials of this deal aside though, Hulk could actually do a pretty good job for the club. He has an incredible record through the course of his career as a right winger. In 573 appearances, he has scored 303 goals and provided 178 assists. And even at 34 years of age, with Celtic’s need for a right winger, he would be a spectacular coup. Unfortunately, there is very little chance that it will ever happen though.
