Neil Lennon wasn’t too happy with the BBC reporter when he was asked about his Celtic future after the Hoops dropped two more points in the Premiership.

Celtic have to rely on a late equaliser from Mohamed Elyounoussi to come out with a 1-1 draw against St. Johnstone. This now means that they are now 13 points behind the Rangers in the Premiership table although they do have a couple of games in hand. And that gap seems to be increasing with every passing gap as the Hoops show no sign of improvement.

Obviously, questions have been raised about the future of Neil Lennon at the club. The majority of the fans want him gone from the club before it is too late to rescue things. Many would argue that it is already too late. Yet, the board have decided to stick with him till now.

Lennon appears to be growing frustrated with his own team’s performances. But has maintained that he is the man to turn things around. Of course, the fact that the Hoops have won just two of their last twelve games has not helped his case.

He didn’t appear to be happy though when a reporter asked him whether he was afraid that his time at the club was up after the 1-1 draw against St. Johnstone. The Celtic manager told BBC Scotland, as cited by 67 Hail Hail:

"“I don’t fear anything. You’re asking all these negative questions Kheredine, you’re asking questions about my job.“The club have already come out this week and said they back me, what more do you want them to do?“I agree, the results aren’t good enough, it will improve, I have no question of that, whether it’s on me or not, we’ll wait and see. But I cannot answer the questions that you’re asking.”"

It is hard not to feel that he is channelling his anger towards the wrong person here. At this point, it is pretty clear that things are unlikely to improve unless he is shown the exit door by the board.

It is impossible to see how Lennon will continue as manager after this series of awful results. But then, we have been saying that for several weeks now and he has somehow managed to survive the axe.

At this point, it is inevitable though that sooner or later, he will be gone. And when that does happen, let’s just hope that the board show enough ambition to go for a top manager this time around.

Eddie Howe is someone who is available and capable of fixing this mess up. He took Bournemouth from the fourth tier of English football to the Premier League. And at point he was linked with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United. Surely he is good enough to get a job done here.
