The Celtic star has been pictured back in first-team training after a recent injury had kept him out of the Hoops’ past few matches.

Celtic’s problems this season are known to all. And they have not been helped by the number of injuries that the players have suffered. With such a tight schedule though, it is perhaps only natural that there will be niggling injuries.

One man who has suffered more of them than anyone in recent times is Leigh Griffiths. With both Odsonne Edouard and Albian Ajeti struggling, and Patryk Klimala not even getting a chance to kick a ball on most days, the Scottish striker is still at least the second best striker at Parkhead. Unfortunately for Neil Lennon, he has been unavailable for most of the season till now though.

Griffiths started the season in the worst way possible when he was not taken to pre-season to France due to a lack of fitness. Since then, there has been one injury or the other that has kept him out of action. While he has made a few appearances, he has not gotten to play a stretch of games and get into a rhythm.

His latest issue was a knee injury that kept him out of the squad against Ross County and AC Milan. But hopefully he has put that issue behind him and will be fit enough to feature against St Johnstone tomorrow.

Celtic have struggled badly this season and haven’t managed to kind of form over the past few months. As a result, Lennon has been forced to tinker with his formation on multiple occasions. Many will argue though that the Hoops played their best football in recent memory at the end of last season while deploying a 3-5-2 with Griffiths and Edouard leading the attack.

They have not had the opportunity to use that duo this season till now with both strikers going through their separate injury issues as well as lack of form. But it looks like the Frenchman is slowly finding his touch once again. And if Griffiths can do the same, then there is no reason that Celtic couldn’t go on a winning run similar to last season.
