Chris Sutton believes that the two Celtic stars might be damaging their own future prospects with their recent performances.

Celtic are in the middle of one of their worst runs of form in recent memory. With just two wins from their last ten games, it looks like only a matter of time before Neil Lennon gets sacked. Many would even argue that the club should have already shown the manager the exit door. But there is no hiding from the fact that it is not all Lennon’s fault.

The performances that the players have put in over the past couple of months have been disheartening to say the least. It almost feels like a number of them do not want to be on the pitch. And that might very well be the case considering the transfer rumours that have surrounded the club in recent times.

Chris Sutton has called out two such players in Odsonne Edouard and Kristoffer Ajer, who he believes are not doing their chances of big money moves any good right now. As reported by the Daily Record, he said:

"“Edouard has a huge problem as he is so talented. He has built a reputation over the past couple of seasons where all Europe’s big clubs would have been looking at him and watching him really closely.“The way he is playing at this moment in time, he’s doing himself a great deal of harm.“Now everybody goes through peaks and troughs and I understand that. But this is pretty alarming.“We are seeing glimpses, but he’s not doing enough. I don’t know if he wants a move away or not, but he’s playing as if he doesn’t want to be there. Although you could level that at others“If he wants to get his big move, he needs to start performing in a Celtic jersey. If he wants to get his career back on track, he needs to start livening up.“If you watched Edouard the last couple of seasons, there are so many boxes you’d tick.“But there is a situation now where people are maybe now going to look at him and question his attitude.“It’s unfair just to single Edouard out. Is it happening with Ajer? Linked with AC Milan with a £30 million fee? They wouldn’t be in double figures with performances this season.”"

It is only natural that the top clubs would be turned away if the duo continue to perform like this for much longer. Edouard has been linked with Ligue 1 and Premier League clubs in the recent past but now a lot of them will think twice before making any move. It is just not his form that they’ll view as a negative but also the recent questions that have been raised about his attitude.

The same can be said about Ajer. If the rumours linking him with AC Milan were indeed true then he has the chance to play for one of the biggest clubs in Europe right now. But his performances this season have been up-and-down to say the least. In fact, that was the case last season as well.

We all know that both these players are very talented and have a lot of potential. And hopefully they can find their form soon. Because right now, they are doing neither their individual careers nor the club any good.
