The Celtic hierarchy have reached a decision over the future of Neil Lennon after immense pressure following their Scottish League Cup elimination.
With just two wins from their last ten games, Celtic are in the midst of one of their worst runs of form in recent memory. In fact, they have lost four straight home games for the first time since 1958.
It is clear that the club need to make some changes if they are to bring the season back on track. Naturally, questions are being asked about the future of Neil Lennon at the club. In recent weeks the manager has looked helpless on the touchline as his team has productive one lifeless display after the other.
For the time being though, it looks like the club hierarchy have given him another chance to turn things around. Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph is reporting that the club hierarchy had a series of positive Zoom meetings with Lennon and he will continue in his role.
Joseph tweeted out:

One has to wonder how much of a part the violent protests after the 2-0 loss at the hands of Ross County played in this decision from the board. Sacking Lennon right after that would have seemed like giving into the protestors and would have set a bad precedent.
Instead, the board might have played it smart on this occasion. Celtic will face AC Milan in the Europa League this Thursday away at the San Siro. And judging by the form that the Bhoys have showed over the past couple of months, unfortunately we can see that tie going only one way at this moment.
The game is meaningless for the Hoops though as they are already out of the competition. But a heavy defeat on the day will provide the board the chance to show Lennon the exit door.
Of course, this is just mere speculation at this point of time but do not be surprised if this is exactly how it all plays out over the next few days.
