A recent report appears to have solved the mystery surrounding Karamoko Dembele’s recent Celtic absence and sheds some light on his future at the club.
Since appearing for their reserve side as a 13-year-old back in 2016, Karamoko Dembele has been one of the most highly-rated youngsters at Celtic. Unfortunately, he is yet to deliver on that hype though and the biggest reason for that is perhaps the lack of opportunities that he has been afforded by the club.
Now 17 years of age, this is the time for the Hoops to slowly integrate him into the first-team and see how he performs at the senior level. Instead he has just seen 4 minutes of action this season till now, which is not a lot less than the 23 minutes of football that he got to play in the entirety of last season.
Mostly, he has been an unused substitute in Neil Lennon’s side but recently he has been missing from the bench as well. He did not even feature when a Celtic XI took on Hamilton Academical in a friendly at Douglas Park yesterday, which has left a number of fans scratching their heads about his recent absence. After all, the manager has not suggested that he has suffered any injury.

An exclusive report from Video Celts claims that he has not been seen in training for the last two weeks, which explains the mystery surrounding his absence. No reason was given though for him missing training.
Dembele’s contract runs out at the end of the season and with the little amount of football that he has played for the Hoops, it is hard not think that he might be on his way out of the club unless there is a massive change over the next few months and Lennon starts to play him more regularly.
Considering his immense potential, he will not have a lack of suitors if he decides to leave. And at this point we can just hope that he does not end up being another magnificent talent that we missed the boat on.
