If the report is indeed true then Celtic’s worries are going to be further increased in the upcoming January transfer window.

As things stand, Celtic are already in a world of trouble. The Hoops have just won two of their last nine games in all competitions. As a result, they are already out of the Europa League and find themselves 11 points behind the Rangers with their only saving grace being their two games in hand.

At no point in this season has it looked like the team is performing up to their standards. Earlier, they were still able to squeeze out wins despite putting in under par but now even those have dried up. And if the recent reports are anything to go by, then their worries are going to only be compounded in January.

According to Football Insider, the future of four first-team Celtic players are up in the air, with those four being Odsonne Edouard, Ryan Christie, Olivier Ntcham and Kristoffer Ajer. The report goes on to claim that at least one of them is set to be sold in the upcoming transfer window.

Obviously, this is a result of the club’s massive £13 million drop in turnover which saw them reek out only a £100,000 profit. This is a direct result of the global pandemic which has wrecked financial havoc upon clubs all over the world, with no fans being allowed into stadiums.

Sooner or later, this was bound to happen as it was expected that the club would do something to balance the books. The issue here is the fact that all of them are big parts of the current squad and will need replacing. If one had to pick one of the four that they would comfortable letting go of, it would probably be Ntcham considering the number of options the Hoops have in the middle of the park.

Many would even argue that the club need to recruit players in January in order to bring their season back on track. As things stand though that is unlikely to happen and we would advise fans not to hold their breath over blockbuster arrivals in January.
