Neil Lennon has revealed what he told the Celtic players in the dressing room after their humiliating 4-1 defeat at the hands of Sparta Prague.

Neil Lennon looks doomed for the sack. Most fans will even be asking why he has not been shown the door yet as the club go through one of their worst run of forms in years, where they have managed just two wins in their last nine games in all competitions. As things stand, they are chasing the Rangers in the Premiership and are out of the Europa League even with two games left to played.

It was not too long ago though that this same side was flying in Europe. It was just last season that they managed to do the double over Italian giants Lazio and top their Europa League group. So where has it all gone so wrong?

Apparently Lennon does not know the answer either and asked the dressing room the same thing after their defeat at the hands of Sparta Prague.

As reported by the Daily Record, the Celtic manager said:

"“That is what I am scratching my head about. That’s the question I asked in the dressing room afterwards. Why have we gone the other way?“I don’t know if it’s a lack of confidence in individuals or in the team themselves.“I was asking them why we’re conceding goals? Are we lacking confidence in ourselves? Are we lacking that as a group?“It was a conversation I put out to the players to get their opinions.“We’re hoping, having spoken about it, they can galvanise themselves from that.“It’s not good enough, it’s unacceptable the manner of the defeat.”"

Let’s just hope that they find the answers quickly because at this point, it has been one disappointing result after the other. And with 10IAR up in the air now, they cannot afford to leave it too late in hope of a miracle.

Unfortunately, at this point of time it looks like we have a bunch of players on the pitch who do not seem interested in either playing for the Hoops or the manager. If the latter is the case then there is only one option left and that is to show Lennon the exit door.

Yes, he is a club legend who deserves all the respect in the world from the fans. And it is tragic that this is how his stint at the club ends. But it is what it is, we need to make the tough decision. Nobody is bigger than the club and if changing the manager helps us get 10IAR then we should not even think twice before making the decision.
