In the recent episode of ‘A Celtic State of Mind’, Paul John Dykes has claimed that the Celtic star wants to leave the club.
There is no hiding from the fact that Celtic have not made the start to this season that they would have liked, especially with 10IAR on the line. And one of the biggest reasons for that has been Odsonne Edouard’s lack of form.
The Frenchman was the talisman for the club even last season, scoring 27 goals and providing 19 assists in just 45 appearances. He has failed to carry that form into this season though. After scoring a hattrick on opening day, he has managed just 3 goals in 12 appearances since then – a very disappointing number for a player of his quality.
And Paul John Dykes of A Celtic State of Mind believes that the Frenchman wants a move away from the club as reported by This is Futbol:
"“I’m hoping that he looks at the situation as it stands and yeah, he wants a move – of course he does. No one thinks otherwise, the boy wants a move. I don’t want that move to happen in January. I don’t think any Celtic fan would, even based on his poor form, and I see him turning it around this season.”"

It is no secret that Edouard is expected to leave the club sooner rather than later. And he probably would have been off last summer if not for the fact that 10IAR was on the line this season. But the idea that he is underperforming because of his desire to leave does not make much sense.
After all, if he does not deliver the numbers, then the top clubs will no longer be interested in him. And in that case, will it even make sense for him to leave Parkhead?
Whatever may be the reason for his lack of form, let’s just hope he can put that behind him and rediscover his form. The Hoops need him firing on all cylinders as that is when they are on the top of their game.
In that regard, the two goals that he scored for the France under-21 side is a good sign and hopefully he can build on that to bounce back and get his season on track.
