The Celtic target appears to be available in the January transfer widow after having seemingly fallen out-of-favour at his current club.
Celtic might have a chance to bring in one of their long-term targets in January if reports surrounding him are indeed true and he has had a falling out at his current club.
Omar Colley is someone that most Hoops fans have heard of from the rumour mill in the summer. The club had apparently tried to sign him but failed for a variety of reasons. As a result, they ended up getting Shane Duffy on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion. Since then, a lot of things have changed.
Firstly, SampNews24 is reporting that a move away from Sampdoria is inevitable for Colley after he has been given just 3 appearances this season by Claudio Ranieri and it looks like he has fallen out of favour with the Italian club after a summer transfer move failed to transpire.
Secondly, Shane Duffy has not looked like the man that Celtic though that they were getting. Widely expected to the best defender in Scotland when he arrived, his confidence is shot at the moment as he looks like a mistake waiting to happen.

While Neil Lennon is expected to stick with him for the time being, there is no chance that the manager will continue to play him much longer he does not improve. And that might open up the need for another centre-back at the club.
Can Colley be the answer? The Gambian international was very impressive last season but has not gotten the same chances this time around.
Now, the most important thing in this situation is Sampdoria’s asking price. If they stick to the £8-10 million that was being reported by the media in the summer then there is very little chance of any move taking place. But if they are willing to come down from that price, then there could be a deal to be made here. Only time shall tell.
