Roy Keane is a man who speaks his mind at all times and he did exactly that last night, blasting the Celtic star for his display for the Republic of Ireland.

Roy Keane does not hold back. And that did not change after Republic of Ireland’s 3-0 defeat at the hands of England last night. One man of the men who pointed out as a possible reason for the defeat though was Celtic star Shane Duffy.

The defender has endured a tough time since joining the Hoops from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer on a season-long loan. And he appears to have carried that bad form into national duty.

The incidence in question was Harry Maguire’s 18th minute goal that put the Three Lions’ ahead. And Keane believes that Duffy could have done better but apparently he did not want it as badly as the Manchester United skipper. Interestingly, the pundit represented both clubs during his illustrious playing career.

As reported by HITC, following the 3-0 defeat Keane said:

"“Duffy is having a difficult spell club-wise and Harry Maguire looked like he wanted it a little bit more (for the first goal). When the ball comes into the box you ask, who wants it more?”"

Duffy is clearly going through a rough patch of form at this point of time. When he moved to Parkhead, he was expected to be the best defender in Scotland and just cruise through the league. The truth though has been very, very different.

The loanee has looked like a bag of nerves at the back, capable of committing a mistake at any point of time. He was brought into to solidify the defence but has had an opposite effect with Celtic looking shakier than they ever have in recent memory.

Hopefully, Duffy can clear things up soon as he has shown that on top of his game, he is a great defender capable of cutting it in the Premier League. Unfortunately, we are yet to see that in the Hoops.
