Celtic have been handed a major injury boost with a number of the players on their way back to fitness heading into their Hibernian clash.

With Celtic in the middle of one of their worst runs in recent memory, the club can use all the help that they can at the moment. The Hoops have just won two of their last seven games. As a result, they find themselves already chasing the Rangers in the Premiership while they are on the brink of elimination from their Europa League group, having managed just a solitary point from their first three games in the competition.

A major reason for this down turn in form in recent weeks has to fall on the number of players that have been out of action. Either injury, testing positive for the virus or coming in contact with someone who had has resulted in their unavailability.

Things are starting to look up once again though as John Kennedy has confirmed that three Celtic players are on their way to recovering from their recent fitness issues and could be available after the conclusion of the international break.

As reported by The Celtic View and as cited by Celts Are Here, the assistant manager said:

"“Kris had an issue against Lille, a minor groin issue. He didn’t reinjure it against Motherwell but he felt as the game was going on it was getting a bit tighter in that area. We didn’t want to take any risks with that so hopefully, he’ll be fine this week.“Jeremie’s issue was the contact more than anything else. It was a bad tackle but he’ll be okay.“Mikey’s done a bit of training now. He’s obviously missed a lot of time on the pitch so we’re just building him back up.“Chris Jullien had a difficult spell there with a back issue but he’s looking in a better place now and we’ll hopefully get him on the pitch at some point during this international break.”"

This will come as a huge boost for the Hoops. Defence has been a specially a weakness for them this season, with Shane Duffy struggling to fit in since joining. As a result, Kristoffer Ajer and Christopher Jullien’s injuries have not helped.

This was the starting duo for Neil Lennon through the course of last season. And while the two did receive their fair share of criticism, over the the past few months it has become evident that they might be the two best defenders at the club right now despite their shortcomings in certain aspects of the game.

On the other hand, Jeremie Frimpong has been one of the few bright spots in a season that has not had many for the club. And everybody will be relieved that his injury is not as serious as first feared after that horrendous tackle from Motherwell’s Devante Cole at the weekend.
