Celtic fans react to rumours about Fraser Forster return
Celtic fans have reacted to rumours about a possible move for Fraser Forster in January once again after failing to replace him in the summer.
It is undeniable that a few months ago, most Celtic fans would have happily kept Fraser Forster at the club for their 10IAR campaign.
After all, Forster had returned to the club and managed to establish himself as the first-team starter immediately. And it is arguable that the club have failed to adequately replace him in the summer transfer window with us still unsure whether Scott Bain or £4.5 million signing Vasilis Barkas will have the gloves in the long-term.
The English keeper had the chance to come back on another season-long loan though before the Hoops had ever made a move for Barkas. And if reports are to be believed, then he rejected the chance to stay on at Southampton. It is believed that at that point of time their were hopes that he could earn back his place in the Saints’ starting XI. Of course, his much higher salary there must have played a big role as well.

Obviously, that has not happened. The 32-year-old has not even gotten a sniff at first-team football. And as a result, the rumours have started to emerge again that he could return to Celtic for a third stint.
Football Insider have decided to play down the rumours though. They believe any move is unlikely because of a combination of his sky high salary as well as the Saints’ need to replace him in case he ends up leaving in January.
The bigger question here is though, will the Hoops take a man who refused to comeback for 10IAR, preferring the chance at Southampton first-team football above it. To be fair, the fan base seems pretty divided when it comes to the matter.
One portion believes that it is in the club’s best interests to bring him back, with neither Bain nor Barkas convincing entirely till now:
Others though are not as forgiving or quick to forget:
With the fate of 10IAR on the line though, this is a tricky one. What would you do?
