Former Celtic scout makes massive Tom Rogic claim
By StevieMac
The former Celtic scout has made a massive claim about Tom Rogic’s future at the club after he made a return to the first-team in recent weeks.
There has never been a question about Tom Rogic’s quality as a footballer. But his constant injuries over the last few years meant that he ended up losing his place in the Celtic first-team and has merely been a fringe player in Neil Lennon’s second stint as manager.
The Australian has looked like a man reborn in recent weeks though. The Hoops’ poor run of form has meant that the manager has almost been forced to give him a chance and he has taken it with both hands. Over his two starts against Aberdeen, he has provided 4 assists and has probably been their best player in recent weeks.
As a result, it will be a surprise if he does not end up featuring much more regularly this season than he has in recent times. Of course, that is if he can stay injury free.
His recent return to form has not been a surprise for former Celtic recruitment chief John Park though. As reported by The Scottish Sun, he said:
"“People sometimes look at him and think he’s lazy. That he doesn’t run about enough.“But that’s the job of others. With Rogic you just want him on the ball. He’s not lazy, it’s just his deceptive playing style. He glides about the pitch, gets into great positions and creates openings out of nothing.“He can do things with the ball most others in the team can’t. He’s a sublime midfielder, so much quality with each foot.“Rogic is a proper No 10. Look back on his Celtic goals, there have been magnificent efforts with both feet.“He’s had a lot of tough injuries throughout his Celtic career. But it says it all about him he has come through them all and achieved so much.“He’s won the lot with Celtic and is now one of the most-capped players in the current Australia squad.“His professionalism is second to none. You never see him publicly complain about anything, he never shouts his mouth off, he just gets on with it.“On Sunday at Hampden, he was magnificent, his neat pass for Ryan Christie’s opener and then a cross hung up perfectly for Mohamed Elyounoussi to score.“I’m delighted to see Rogic back fit again and playing his part for Celtic. He’s only 27 and can achieve much more.”"

Not too long ago, it looked like Rogic’s Celtic career was all but over. After spending the last few years on the fringes, the club had accepted a bid from Qatar and it looked like the Australian was set to leave. The move fell through at the last moment though and in hindsight, the Hoops were very lucky that it did.
Rogic has been one of their best performers over the past few weeks and is a huge reason why the club have managed to somewhat come out of their recent dip in form. Let’s just hope that he can remain injury free and continue in the same vein of form, because on his day, he is still one of the best players at Parkhead.
If that does happen, it will complete a remarkable comeback for the Australian.
