There could be more bad news on the horizon for Celtic as Scott Brown could end up trouble with the SFA heading into their Scottish Cup semi-final game against Aberdeen.
Celtic have endured some terrible luck over the past few weeks. The international break was an absolute disaster for the Hoops, with a number of players ruled out for either testing positive or being in contact with players who had. And this has played a huge part in their downturn in form since then.
Coming out of the international break, the Hoops have lost two and drawn their other game. And as a result, Neil Lennon has been left walking the managerial tightrope. A few more bad results and you would think that chances are high that he would be shown the exit door.
The 2-0 loss against the Rangers was frustrating but perhaps even more frustrating was the 3-3 draw against Aberdeen. The Hoops gave away two penalties during the game, one of which was in the 91st minute, undoing all of the hard work they had done to come from behind to take the lead.

And it looks like there could be more bad news from the game. The Daily Record are reporting that Scott Brown could be hit with retrospective punishment for an alleged elbow on Aberdeen’s Scott Wright. Referee Willie Collum took no action against the Celtic captain but perhaps the governing body could.
Now, in our eyes it clearly looked like an accident. Even the matchday commentator called it so when the elbow struck Wright while Brown was trying to block him.
Any ban at this point could be a huge blow for the Hoops. While Brown has not been at the top of his game this season, it is clear that we still do not know what combination of players works best for us. As a result, it will be the best for Lennon to have a full squad at his disposal going forward.
It is important to note though that there have not been many whispers regarding a retrospective ban for the captain and there might not be much truth to it as a result.
