Celtic have been handed a major boost heading into their two major games coming up against Aberdeen, with the Hoops under pressure to produce results.

Neil Lennon might be under more pressure right now than he has been at any other time during his second stint as the Celtic manager. Last week’s 2-0 defeat at home at the hands of the Rangers in a toothless display means that the Hoops are now chasing their rivals in the Premiership table.

They might have lost the same fixture last season as well but back he had the benefit of the doubt having won the other two derbies in the season. This time though it is a very different case. And with 10IAR on the line, the pressure is probably more intense than it has ever been.

Thus, the two upcoming games against Aberdeen are very important. Celtic might have a game against AC Milan on Thursday as well but there is no doubt that the games against the Dons are more important.

As a result, the injury news coming out Aberdeen will surely be a boost to Neil Lennon’s side. As reported by the Daily Record, McInnes said:

"“We lost a couple of poor goals and that took the shine off a bit and a couple of injuries to players. Jonny Hayes will get a scan tomorrow. He is feeling his groin and he did the right thing in coming off.“Ash Taylor and Ross McCrorie had a couple of knocks as well and Edmondson rolled his ankle but Jonny is the most at risk but we will see where he is tomorrow.”"

Celtic have endured their own issues recently as well with a number of players out of action and as a result, this could end up levelling the playing field to some extent.

The Hoops travel to Pittodrie Stadium on Sunday to take on Derek McInnes’ side in the Premiership. A win is without doubt incredibly vital on the day as anything other than three points could end up increasing the gap at the top even further. And that is something they cannot afford.

Then, they travel to Hampden Park to face the same side in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup. And the fans would be desperate to win the competition as well as that would mean four straight trebles.

A lot will depend on these upcoming two games. Victories could end up releasing a lot of the pressure that has built up since the Glasgow Derby defeat. On the other hand, negative results could very possibly end up costing Lennon his job.
