According to reports in the Scottish media, Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths was involved in a three-car crash in Lanarkshire on Sunday night.

Celtic star Leigh Griffiths was involved in a three-car crash near his home on Sunday night. The crash reportedly took place on the Belshill bypass in Lanarkshire and it appears to have been occurred after the cars to stopped to let an ambulance pass through.

The Celtic striker’s Audi was one of the three cars but thankfully, there were no major injuries. Everybody involved managed to escape with minor damages to their vehicles. Reportedly, no further police action is going to take place either.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, an onlooker recognised the Celtic star. He said:

"“I recognised Griffiths’ black Audi and saw him at the side of it.“It looked like everyone was OK but like anyone in that position, you are a bit shocked.“It appeared the drivers were swapping details but that was about it.”"

A Police Scotland spokesperson said:

"“About 7.49pm on Sunday, 18 October, 2020 a three vehicle minor road traffic crash happened on the B7071 in Bothwell.”There were no injuries and no further police action.”"

Leigh Griffiths has had a penchant for creating controversy in the past. It was just in May of last year that he was convicted of his third speeding offence. This time though, it does not appear to be his fault or any of the others involved in the accident. And thankfully, none of them were injured as a result of it.

Griffiths has been out of the pitch for most of this season already but is looking to become a first-team regular soon. He has made substitute appearances in back-to-back games and the fans will be back to his best as soon as possible as they have looked extremely undercooked this season.

At the top of his game, there is no doubt that he is still a top player. We saw glimpses of that in the second half of last season and will be hoping that he can repeat those heroics this time around as well as The Hoops face a tough battle to secure 10IAR.

Must Read. Celtic must already be regretting their summer decision. light
