Conor McGregor trains in Celtic attire
By Nick McAdam
Celtic appear to have a new fan, and one that can put up a good fight that perfectly represents what the Bhoys stand for.
MMA superstar Conor McGregor trained in the green and white attire the other day. Of course, the reaction drew a lot of attention on social media.
The 29-year-old featured in a singed Kieran Tierney jersey that contained the Champions League logo on it from the previous group stage campaign.
The fighter hasn’t participated in a contest since November of 2016 and nobody can really figure when a return will happen for McGregor. However, that hasn’t stopped the Irishman from working his way back into the cage while looking pretty cool doing it.
The Hoops’ Twitter account publicized this by capturing a solid shot of McGregor running in the kit, while Tierney showed his appreciation to the fighter for showcasing his jersey.
McGregor also confirmed that he would be able to play in the starting lineup with the Bhoys. His preferred position is in the center half, which would be a bit awkward considering that Callum McGregor regularly features there as well.
It’s incredible to find out that any type of celebrity or public figure supports the club that you support.

McGregor isn’t the only famous figure that regularly supports the Hoops. Many fans may know this by now, but none other than Snoop Dogg takes a liking to the green and white. The Scotsman notes that an interview after the Bhoys’ 2-1 victory over Barcelona increased his passion for the club.
"The rapper and avid marijuana smoker has been a Celtic supporter for 10 years after being pictured in a hooped shirt way back in 2005. When interviewed after the club’s famous 2-1 victory over Leo Messi’s Barcelona, he even referred to Celtic as “we”. Now that is proper fan speak."
As mentioned before, it’s awesome to have notable people support Celtic. The Celts broke through to the top ten in European attendance last year, and more fans might be intrigued to head to the turnstiles this season as a result of the love from McGregor.
