The winter break is finally over for Celtic. Fans can now take their attention to the pitch while being able to break away from the transfer rumors for a portion of time.

The fourth round of the Scottish Cup takes place today with Celtic hosting Brechin City. Whoever wins will obviously head to the fifth round of the tournament which takes place on the 10th of February.

The Celts are likely just heading back from a rather interesting trip to Dubai. Patrick Roberts appeared in a picture with Kieran Tierney, while new signing Marvin Compper suffered an injury that will keep the defender out for at least a month.

Nobody really knows what the starting lineup should look like in this fixture, but expect Brendan Rodgers to give a lot of his Bhoys a rest. The Hoops should be able to see this contest through easily especially being at home.

Brechin City has been all out of sorts in their league play recently. The Championship side has dropped seven of their last ten contests. Brechin conceded 8 goals to the likes of Greenock Morton and Inverness CT in consecutive matches.

City sold their experienced keeper in Graeme Smith to English League One side Raith Rovers, leaving a ton of confusion between the pipes. Scott Costello and Patrick O’Neil have yet to make an appearance for Brechin this season.

The most dangerous goal-scoring threat for Brechin is Jordan Sinclair. The 21-year-old has 5 goals this season in 21 games. However, Sinclair finds himself on the bench quite a bit with 13 substitutions off the pitch this season.

More from The Celtic Bhoys

This might be the best time for Rodgers to incorporate some of the younger players into the squad. Olivier Ntcham, Kristoffer Ajer and Odsonne Edouard could all make starting appearances in this contest.

A possibility for an upset could be on the cards, but that seems very unlikely here. Celtic should be able to breeze by Brechin in this one and get right back on the course within the Scottish Premiership.

The Bhoys could win by three or more goals in this one, while being able to provide some soild defense for the clean sheet, too.

Prediction: Celtic 3-0 Brechin City

The game takes place at 3 P.M., but it will not be shown on television in the United Kingdom. However, there is surely going to live updates provided across the web and on social media.
