Celtic have got a strong partnership with Scottish Championship side St. Mirren, or at least that’s what it seems like. New signing Lewis Morgan will complete his season with the second-tier side, while another Bhoy will be joining him soon.
Mark Hill is the latest Celtic exit as he will go on loan for the rest of the campaign to St. Mirren. The fee for the move was undisclosed, but the price would probably be close to nothing.
Hill developed with the Hoops’ U-20 side and has yet to make an appearance with the top squad. The 19-year-old made 8 appearances with the Scotland U-19 side in his young career.
The midfielder didn’t make much of an impact in the stat column, but that doesn’t stop the lad from making his impact in the middle of the park. Hill is very strong in the tackling department which is something St. Mirren have been looking for all year.
Mirren’s manager Jack Ross sounded pretty happy with his new signing, noting that his tackling will be huge for the Championship side for the rest of the campaign. Here’s what Celts Are Here noted about Ross’ comments.
"“I think Mark gives us something different. He’s dynamic, he’s powerful, probably a more naturally defensive type in the midfield which we’ve not really had this season.“He’s a player I’ve been really impressed with whenever I’ve seen him and I know Brendan Rodgers has high hopes for him at Celtic.“I’m excited to work with him and look forward to welcoming him to the group.”"
The Celts have been very strong when deciding which players to loan out. The second-half of the schedule won’t just feature some strong competition from other clubs, but rather some positional battles within the squad too.

Brendan Rodgers likely doesn’t want to waste the talent of some of his players. So far, Hill, Morgan and Erik Sviatchenko have all been temporarily shipped out. All of those players have some good starting potential in them.
Hill will need some more time to develop. What better way to progress through the ranks then to work with a side such as St. Mirren while gaining some chemistry with a future Celtic teammate in Morgan.
