It’s a sad thing to think about among Celtic fans. Scott Brown is getting up there in age, and despite the fact that the skipper still has a few solid years left in him, retirement in the near future isn’t out of the question.
Brown is probably one of the most crucial players in the Celts’ lineup. The captain is calm in the middle of the park as well as providing fans with some of the most sublime tackles you can see in the game.
It’s hard to imagine a Celtic squad without Brown. Reinforcements for the skipper are going to start to come in soon, but Brown still puts out some good performances for the Bhoys. Plus, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Scot go for one more campaign with the national team before retirement.
That hasn’t prevented Brown from at least thinking about what life would be like after football. He could become apart of the Hoops’ management, but Brown recently admitted that he doesn’t really like the thought of hanging up the boots just yet.
Brown will likely go down as one of Celtic’s most coveted captains in the club’s history. The 32-year-old has won seven domestic trophies and 14 titles all together with the Bhoys throughout his career.

Scott recently spoke out on what his future could hold. Football Insider noted Brown’s comments in their recent piece when saying:
"“I think that hardest thing is not being in a dressing room with 20 lads and having the banter at training and losing a winning mentality” Brown said, as quoted by the Evening Times.“One day I could be training with the lads and the next day it’s the end of the season and you’re retired. For now I will enjoy every moment and play with a smile on my face because I know it might not last that long.”"
Fans and Brown alike should focus on the present at the moment. After coming off of a treble last season, Celtic will have a tough campaign ahead of them to try and replicate those results. Step one to the process happens in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup on January 20th against Brechin.
